Provillus

Do we ever rate a hair loss treatment positively. The answer is that we do (rarely). Why don’t we recommend the product on this page? We’re looking for clinically-researched ingredients, at the clinical dosage. There are a few hair loss products that have chosen to take this high road, and our favorite is Provillus.  Feel Free to Read our review or go to the official site.

Ultimate Pro Laser

From the makers of the Ultimate I Laser and the Ultimate II Laser comes the Ultimate Pro Laser. This hand-held low level laser comes complete with or without bristles. This new laser is said to be the best of the three lasers combined. The Ultimate Pro Laser emits four times more megawatts than the Laser I and II and is also said to give better coverage.

Low level laser therapy applications

Clinical applications that show some potential of effectiveness with low level laser therapy include treating soft tissue injury, chronic pain, and wound healing. One clinical application of interest is the treatment of inflammation, where the possible anti-inflammatory effect of location-and-dose-specific laser irradiation is being evaluated in comparison with NSAIDs. Other applications for use include possible help with tinnitus –ringing in the ears- and nerve regeneration. Claims of fighting viral and bacterial infections have been made, but no practical mechanism for this has been proposed.

Low level laser therapy is still a relatively new technology that is yet to be fully understood. While there are many ailments that low level laser therapy is thought to help, hair loss and the re-growth of new hair is not one of them.

Reading between the lines

While reading information on the Ultimate Pro Laser you really need to pay attention to the small print and disclaimers. The product is promised to be the best of the best in hair loss products but closer inspection on the web site uncovers a “Things You Should Know” section. In this section you find the company’s disclaimers or “excuses” as to why the Ultimate Pro Laser may not work for you. First the company tells you that the Ultimate Pro Laser works best when combined with all the other products that they sell. Some of the products they recommend are said to have DHT blockers in them. If that is the case, then it would be the DHT blockers that are aiding in the hair loss problem and not the laser as DHT is the number one cause of hair loss. They also go on to say that the laser therapy is more effective when done in an office environment where the dosage of megawatts can be higher.

Safety

Using lasers is no joke. When used at a doctor’s office, the doctor and the patient usually wear dense filter spectacles in case of accidental exposure to the eyes from the laser. This type of exposure can have very damaging effects on the eyes and should be avoided at all costs. Nowhere does the company warn of this on the web site nor do they offer the special dense filter spectacles.

Conclusion

The biggest concern for anyone wanting to try the Ultimate Pro Laser should be safety. The second concern should be price. True a hand held laser is a pretty nifty gadget, but it is also a pricey one and again has no effect on hair loss. Perhaps when combined with other lotions that have DHT blocking ingredients the laser will work. But if you have something that truly blocks DHT, you don’t need a laser to help it along.
