Rogaine Extra Strength for Men is a topical serum for treating hair loss. It uses the active ingredient Minoxidil, which has been shown to regrow hair and prevent further hair loss. The active ingredient in Rogaine Extra Strength for Men is FDA-approved, but is that enough to sell us on the product? Read on.
Ingredients
-Minoxidil (5%)is the active ingredient in Rogaine Extra Strength for Men. Minoxidil works by counteracting the follicle-shrinking action that occurs with male pattern baldness, allowing regrowth of thicker, fuller hair.
-The inactive ingredients in the serum are Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, and Purified Water.
Product instructions
Rogaine Extra Strength for Men is applied to the scalp twice daily. It can be applied either with a dropper or sprayer. Both methods of application sound potentially messy and awkward to us!
Price
Rogaine Extra Strength for Men is sold in a one-month supply for $26.95, and a three-month supply for $49.95.
Side effects
The side effects that can occur while using Rogaine Extra Strength for Men have us concerned. The alcohol in the topical solution can cause scalp irritation, and propylene glycol has been known to cause allergic reactions. The type of Minoxidil in Rogaine Extra Strength for Men can cause side effects such as headaches, chest pain, or dizziness. Sounds like most hair products -suck it up!
User reviews
First, some users experience a lot of scalp irritation, redness, and even dandruff when using Rogaine Extra Strength for Men. So while using the topical solution, you’d have to add several more products to your hair care routine to treat your inflamed, flaky scalp! Some users have noted that the solution tends to stain pillows and clothing—ah the price of hair! Also, a lot of users have experienced shedding while using the solution. This is common with most hair loss products! In fact, some users of Rogaine Extra Strength for Men find that they have less hair than when they started the treatment, but those are men that don’t follow the directions and give the product TIME!
The length of time it can take to see results with Rogaine Extra Strength for Men is a drawback as well—the manufacturers claim it can take two to four months! Also, the manufacturers admit that Rogaine Extra Strength for Men may not work for all users, even when applied consistently and correctly.
Conclusion
I’d love to just say that Rogaine is Ineffective. However, we offer a service of giving honest reviews, and we have to admit ROGAINE WORKS! Of course there are other Minoxidil Treatments that just as effective. But it’s hard to give these guys a bad review. They’ve been around for a long time and seem dedicated to their products. I have to rate this my third best product; however, why not spend a little less money on regular Minoxidil?
